    Ram Gopal Varma is a prominent Indian film director known for his technical expertise and films with mafia and horror themes. His unique filmmaking style has influenced many new-age directors. He made his directorial debut in Telugu cinema with 'Shiva' (1989) before establishing himself in the Hindi film industry. Notable films that brought him fame include 'Siva' (Telugu), 'Kshana Kshanam' (Telugu), 'Govinda Govinda', 'Gaayam', 'Rakta Charitra', 'Lakshmi's NTR', 'Rangeela' (Hindi), 'Satya' (Hindi), 'Company' (Hindi), and 'Bhoot' (Hindi). His production company, "Varma Corporation'', has produced numerous films. Varma significantly influenced Bollywood, beginning with the massive success of 'Rangeela', which brought fame to actress Urmila and composer A.R. Rahman. 'Satya' is a prestigious film in his career, introducing many actors and technicians, including Manoj Bajpayee, Chakravarthy, Makarand Deshpande, Anurag Kashyap, and Saurabh Shukla. This low-budget film without stars became a template for many imitations in Bollywood. He won three Nandi Awards for 'Siva', 'Kshana Kshanam', and 'Prema Katha', and a Filmfare Award for 'Satya'.
