Pushpa 2 Smashes Records with ₹1065 Crore Pre-Release Business

Icon Star Allu Arjun stars in the much-anticipated sequel, Pushpa 2, directed by Sukumar, with Rashmika Mandanna as the heroine. Following the pan-India success of the first part, expectations are sky-high for this sequel. The makers have officially announced that the film will be released on December 6. Recently, it has come to light that the pre-release business dealings for this film have been extraordinarily high.

A Rs. 1000 Crore Business!

Trade circles have announced that ‘Pushpa 2’ has already broken a massive record even before its release. The movie’s pre-release business has reportedly amounted to Rs. 1065 crores. It’s revealed that the theatrical rights alone were sold for Rs. 640 crores. The theatrical rights in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana were sold for Rs. 220 crores. North India contributed Rs. 200 crores, Tamil Nadu Rs. 50 crores, Karnataka Rs. 30 crores, Kerala Rs. 20 crores, and overseas rights went for Rs. 120 crores. Additionally, digital rights were acquired by Netflix for Rs. 275 crores. Music rights reached Rs. 65 crores and satellite rights touched Rs. 85 crores, making the overall pre-release business surpass Rs. 1000 crores, as per trade reports.

Shattering ‘RRR’s Record!

The film ‘RRR‘, directed by S.S. Rajamouli, starring Tarak and Ram Charan, did a pre-release business of Rs. 480 crores, with overall earnings including OTT, music, and television rights nearing Rs. 900 crores. However, Pushpa 2’s pre-release business figures clearly surpass ‘RRR’, making it evident that Allu Arjun’s film has shattered previous records by a significant margin, achieving what no other Telugu star has managed before.

Shraddha Kapoor for the Item Song!

The songs from ‘Pushpa’ were a massive hit, especially the item song “Oo Antava Oo Oo Antava”, which became a sensation across the country. Samantha’s mesmerizing presence and the catchy choreography with Bunny won many hearts. Therefore, for ‘Pushpa 2’, director Sukumar is planning to include a similar item song. Recently, Bollywood beauty Shraddha Kapoor’s name has surfaced as a potential candidate for this special song. The Pushpa team is reportedly in discussions with her, following other names like Tripti Dimri, Disha Patani, and Mrunal Thakur, who were also considered for the special song.

First Half Editing Complete

The shooting of ‘Pushpa 2’ is in its final stages, with climax scenes being shot at Ramoji Film City in Hyderabad. Music director Devi Sri Prasad recently announced that the editing of the first half of ‘Pushpa 2’ is complete. He praised the output and commended Allu Arjun for his captivating performance. Alongside Allu Arjun and Rashmika Mandanna, the film also stars Fahadh Faasil, Jagadeesh Prathap Bandari, Prakash Raj, Sunil, and Anasuya in pivotal roles.
