Sidhu Moosewala, a Punjabi singer and politician, was shot and killed yesterday. Sidhu is a well-known figure in the Punjabi Hip Hop culture. For every young Punjabi, he is a cultural icon. His authentic lyrics for his songs brought him a slew of controversy. His rise from a small lyricist to one of Indian music’s most well-known faces has been astonishing. Sidhu often makes the news for promoting gun culture and gang violence. Many cases were filed against him for glorifying the gun culture and violence. In 2021, the 28-year-old joined the Congress party. He ran for the Mansa constituency as an MLA but lost.
‘The Last Ride,’ Sidhu’s most recent single, was released a month ago. Sidhu sings about his legacy and the name he would be remembered by after he dies; he even wrote a line about dying as a king at a young age. He had no idea that this would be his final song, and that the lyrics he wrote will come true in a month.
Sidhu’s fans all across the world are saddened by his death. His work, lifestyle, and even death bear striking resemblances to the late hip-hop legend Tupac Shakur. Sidhu was a major fan of Tupac. Unfortunately, both of these legends died at an early age.
Sidhu was brutally murdered yesterday. Sidhu, who was in Mahindra Thar with two friends, was ambushed by a gang of criminals who shot 30 rounds of ammunition at him. While the other two were being treated, Sidhu was laid to rest at the hospital. The police claimed that Sidhu’s murder was a result of his rivalry with a mob called ‘Lawrence Bishnoi Group.’
