The digital (OTT) rights of Prabhas’ pan-world movie “Adipurush” have been sold for a record sum. According to rumours, Netflix paid Rs 250 crore for it. The movie is currently in the post-production phase, which is set to hit the screens on January 12, 2023. Kriti Sanon plays Sita, Sunny Singh plays Laxmana, and Saif Ali Khan plays Lankesh in the Om Raut-directed movie.
‘Adipurush’ had a production budget of 500 crores rupees, making it one of the most costly movies ever made in India. Netflix paid a staggering 250 crore for the digital rights to this film. This is the biggest digital deal ever for an Indian movie. That amounts to one-half of the movie’s budget. The producers of ‘Adipurush’ are already making money off of the project as they own the satellite rights, theatrical rights, and music rights. The filming of ‘Adipurush’ was finished earlier this year. The film, which was entirely shot on IMAX cameras, is currently having the VFX work done in Los Angeles by Hollywood experts. Prabhas reportedly received a salary for this movie of above 100 crores.
The Indian audience has high hopes for this mythical movie. Nationwide anticipation is high among Prabhas’s followers to watch the actor portray Lord Rama in the cinema. Director Om Raut has promised ‘Adipurush’ fans that the teaser for this flick will be released soon. Similar to Baahubali, this Hindi-language movie starring Prabhas will be distributed in all the major Indian and international languages.
While ‘Adipurush’ is about to be released, Prabhas is presently preoccupied with the filming of “Salaar” and “Project K.” After these films, Prabhas will do a movie with director Maruthii and Sandeep Reddy Vanga. A project with Koratala Siva is also in talks.
