With ten nominations each, “Karnan” of Dhanush and “Akhanda” of Nandamuri Balakrishna were in second place. “Jaathi Ratnalu” and “Uppena” both garnered eight nominations for other Telugu movies.
The omission of Nani’s critically praised movie “Shyam Singha Roy” from the nominees has Telugu movie fans feeling a little let down. The choice of SIIMA to nominate “Jathi Ratnalu” over “Shyam Singha Roy” has stunned the audience. The followers of Nani may get quite heated about this.
