Ashika Ranganath is making waves in the Telugu film industry with her latest project, ‘Naa Sami Ranga,’ where she stars alongside Nagarjuna. In this film, she portrays the character of Varalakshmi, capturing the audience’s attention with her compelling performance. Before ‘Naa Sami Ranga,’ Ashika made her debut in Tollywood with the movie ‘Amigos,’ where she shared the screen with Kalyan Ram. Her entry into this project was quite serendipitous; she caught the director’s eye during an event in Hyderabad and was immediately narrated the story over the phone, leading to her casting.
Born in Karnataka, Ashika completed her degree in Bengaluru. She never initially aspired to be in films. However, her participation in a beauty contest during college led to her recognition as the ‘Clean & Clear Fresh Face,’ which opened doors to the film industry. She was then approached for the Kannada film ‘Crazy Boy.’
Ashika is not only an actor but also a trained dancer. She has performed in various cultural events during her college days, excelling in freestyle, belly dancing, and Western dance forms.
Her favorite actor is Puneeth Rajkumar. She was thrilled to get an opportunity to act with him and deeply mourned his passing.
Ashika has a good understanding of Telugu, gained from watching Telugu films and listening to songs with her father since childhood. She particularly enjoyed movies like ‘Bommarillu’ and ‘Nuvvostanante Nenoddantana.’
A book lover, Ashika enjoys reading inspirational life stories and listening to motivational speeches. She constantly strives for change and improvement.
Fitness is a significant part of Ashika’s life. She is meticulous about her diet and commits to rigorous workouts four times a week at the gym.
Director Rajamouli holds a special place in her heart, and she dreams of acting in one of his movies. She also has had a long-standing crush on Bollywood actor Ranbir Kapoor since childhood.
