Tamil star Sivakarthikeyan enjoys popularity in Tollywood as well, with his films like ‘Remo‘, ‘Varun Doctor‘, ‘Don’, and ‘Prince’ being released in Telugu and performing well. Continuing this successful streak, his film ‘Ayalaan‘, which was released during Sankranti, also attained hit status. Despite achieving good box office collections across all languages, it wasn’t initially released in Telugu. However, it’s now set for a Telugu OTT release, with the premiere date already decided.
Where is Streaming?
The Tamil version of ‘Ayalaan’ has already made its way to OTT. Sun NXT, which acquired the digital rights for a significant amount, made it available to the audience in February. Now, preparations are underway to release the Telugu version on OTT as well. There’s a strong buzz that ‘Ayalaan’ in Telugu will start streaming from April 19. An official announcement from Sun NXT officials is expected within the next two days, making OTT viewers eagerly waiting for the Telugu version of ‘Ayalaan’ very happy.
Should Have Been Released Earlier… But!
Initially, the makers planned to release ‘Ayalaan’ in Telugu alongside Tamil as a Sankranti gift. However, due to big-ticket films like ‘Guntur Karum’, ‘Hanuman’, ‘Saindhav’, and ‘Naa Sami Ranga’ releasing in Telugu around the same time, it was postponed. Attempts to release it later were not successful. Therefore, Telugu viewers who have been waiting for its OTT release for some time are now delighted with the update on the Telugu OTT version. Interestingly, this science fiction film managed to gross approximately Rs. 96 crores at the box office.
The Story is About:
Tamizh (Sivakarthikeyan) is an ordinary farmer who comes to the city in search of a job. Meanwhile, scientist Aryan (Sharad Kelkar) attempts to discover Nova Gas as an alternative to petrol and diesel. His research, being highly dangerous, is conducted secretly in a mine using a meteorite, prompting an alien named Tattu to come to Earth to stop Aryan. How does this alien meet Tamizh? What trouble does the alien encounter with Aryan’s gang? What danger does Aryan’s experiment bring to the city of Chennai?
Karthikeyan… A One Man Show
‘Ayalaan’ is a one-man show by hero Sivakarthikeyan, who excels in the role of Tamizh. The comedic scenes between him and the alien are entertaining. The alien character as the second hero is intriguing. Rakul Preet Singh, Yogi Babu, and Karunakaran also do justice to their roles. In negative roles, Isha Koppikar and Sharad Kelkar have performed well. Director Ravi Kumar has achieved great success by adding an alien element to a simple story. The concept of “alien powers transferring to the hero” greatly benefited the film. The effort of the VFX team is visible in every scene featuring the alien. Overall, ‘Ayalaan’ is a family-friendly movie that can be enjoyed together.
