Animal
The film ‘Animal‘, directed by Telugu director Sandeep Reddy Vanga and starring Bollywood star Ranbir Kapoor, performed well at the box office. It garnered over Rs. 500 crores in just six days and reached an overall collection of Rs. 917.82 crores. A sequel to this movie is also planned.
Salaar
‘Salaar‘, directed by Prashanth Neel and starring Prabhas, created a cash rain at the box office. It joined the Rs. 500 crore club in just seven days and collected a total of Rs. 700 crores. Malayalam star hero Prithviraj played a friend to Prabhas in this film. A sequel to this movie is also on the cards.
RRR
Directed by SS Rajamouli, ‘RRR‘ with Ram Charan and Jr NTR as heroes, broke several records. It earned Rs. 570 crores in just the first three days and eventually collected Rs. 1810 crores overall.
KGF 2
Directed by Prashanth Neel and starring Kannada actor Yash, ‘KGF 2‘ collected Rs. 560 crores within the first four days of its release. Globally, the film grossed around Rs. 1200-1250 crores. The success of ‘KGF’ and ‘KGF 2’ has brought director Prashanth Neel and hero Yash into the pan-India spotlight.
Baahubali
Directed by SS Rajamouli and starring Prabhas, ‘Baahubali‘ transformed the fate of Tollywood. This film showed the strength of Tollywood to the country for the first time. It entered the Rs. 500 crore club three weeks after release and collected a total of Rs. 600-650 crores.
Baahubali 2
The sequel to ‘Baahubali’, ‘Baahubali 2‘, set global records by collecting Rs. 508 crores in just the first three days. Overall, this film garnered Rs. 1810 crores, making it the second highest-grossing film in India.
Robo 2.0
Despite receiving mixed reviews, ‘Robo 2.0‘ directed by Shankar and starring Rajinikanth, managed to perform well at the box office. It entered the Rs. 500 crore club in the first seven days and eventually amassed between Rs. 700 – 800 crores. Akshay Kumar played the antagonist in this film and received notable acclaim.
Jawan
Directed by Tamil director Atlee and starring Bollywood’s Shah Rukh Khan, ‘Jawan‘ was released in September last year and became a blockbuster. It achieved Rs. 500 crores in just four days and made a total of Rs. 1148.32 crores at the box office.
