The film ‘Devara,’ directed by Koratala Siva and starring Jr NTR, was released worldwide on a grand scale this Friday (September 27). Despite mixed reviews, the overall reception has been positive. ‘Devara’ is being showcased to packed houses in all theaters. Audiences are praising Jr NTR’s performance, Anirudh’s music, and Koratala Siva’s dialogues, contributing to a first-day collection of over Rs. 172 crores, demonstrating its box office strength. By the end of the weekend (Friday, Saturday, Sunday), let’s see how much the film has collected.
How much are the weekend collections?
Starring Jr NTR and Janhvi Kapoor, ‘Devara’ has created a storm at the box office. Three days post-release, the film shows no signs of slowing down in collections. Over the weekend, it grossed a staggering Rs. 304 crores (GROSS), officially announced by the makers through a poster. This news has left Tarak’s fans ecstatic as ‘Devara’ continues its rampage at the box office. Already part of the 300 crore club, trade circles predict it will easily hit Rs. 500 crores by the end of the week.
Region-wise performance
The makers of ‘Devara’ have only announced worldwide collections. However, trade circles have attempted to estimate region-wise earnings. According to their data, in the two Telugu states, ‘Devara’ garnered Rs. 126.5 crores over three days. It collected Rs. 38.77 crores in Nizam alone and Rs. 17.90 crores in the Ceded region. In Karnataka, it earned Rs. 20.9 crores, in Tamil Nadu Rs. 5.9 crores, in Kerala Rs. 1.4 crores, and Rs. 35.3 crores in the rest of India. Overseas, it is reported to have made over Rs. 65 crores, marking the highest collections in Tarak’s career.
Day 1 collections set new records!
‘Devara’ has set a record for the highest day 1 collections in Jr NTR’s career as a solo hero. On its first day, it grossed over Rs. 172 crores worldwide, as officially announced by the makers with a special poster. This is a significant achievement post-‘RRR’ in Tarak’s career. Trade circles reported that it made Rs. 83.71 crores on the first day in the two Telugu states alone, with Rs. 19.32 crores coming from Nizam, making it the second all-time highest after ‘RRR’.
Reasons for Devara’s success!
‘Devara’ introduces a new world called ‘Erra Samudram’ created by director Koratala Siva. The film showcases Tarak in a one-man show, delivering exceptional performances as both Devara and his son Vara. Saif Ali Khan, playing the villain, also captivated audiences. Anirudh’s background score has been a major strength for the film, especially in action sequences. Director Koratala Siva impressed with his screenplay and dialogues. The way the action sequences were crafted, the interval bang, and the climax provided great entertainment. However, slow scenes and a weak love track could be seen as drawbacks.
