Young actor Vijay Deverakonda has been unable to secure a hit since the success of ‘Geetha Govindam‘ in 2018. His later films, including ‘NOTA‘ (2018), ‘Dear Comrade‘ (2019), and ‘World Famous Lover‘ (2020), failed to meet expectations. His bid for Pan-India recognition with ‘Liger‘ (2022) ended in an overwhelming failure, and last year’s release, ‘Kushi‘ (2023), suffered a similar disappointment. Despite hopes that ‘Family Star’ would reverse his fortunes, it too proved to be a disappointment, grossing only about 20 crores against a budget of 50 crores.

Vijay Deverakonda’s upcoming film, directed by Gowtam Tinnanuri, is anticipated to be an action thriller. This high-budget project is being produced by Sithara Entertainments. Bhagyashree Borse has been confirmed as the lead actress, following considerations of Mamitha Baiju for the role. Currently, Vijay has high expectations for ‘VD12‘. Additionally, he is preparing to collaborate with director Ravikiran Kola on a forthcoming political action film, with production overseen by Dil Raju.
