In Andhra Pradesh, mobile theaters are making a major splash. These are the products of a company called “Picture Times.” India is a country where 68.84 percent of the population lives in rural areas. The purpose of mobile theaters, according to the Picture Times crew, is to bring multiplex theater experiences to rural audiences.
The film industry has undergone numerous transformations over the decades. From the silent era to the Dolby Audio era. From Black & White to 4D. From DVD to OTT and from 35mm screen to IMAX big screen. The entertainment industry has transformed itself to get closer to the audiences and their convenience. As it stands mobile theaters can also be revolutionary innovations for the future of the Movie industry.
In the tribal parts of the two Telugu states, these mobile theaters have already screened recent major films like Radhe Shyam and RRR. The reception from the rural audience was overwhelmingly enthusiastic, with packed houses at all of the shows.
These latest generation theaters are made of an inflated oxid material that can withstand all types of weather. These theaters have a 35 mm screen and a seating capacity of 120 people, as well as full air conditioning. The Picture Time team also mentioned that they would have started the project with the film RRR, but due to some reasons, they have postponed and will now begin with Megastar’s film Aacharya. Tickets are available for purchase online or at the theatre camps.
