The highly anticipated launch event of Google I/O 2023 showcased a grand unveiling of the tech giant’s latest phone releases. Along with the Pixel 7a, Google finally entered the foldable phone market with its own offering, the Pixel Fold. This device is equipped with impressive features such as the Google Tensor G2 SoC chipset, Android 13, a triple rear camera, and a 180-degree folding hinge. Big Display
The Pixel Fold boasts a 7.6-inch inner display with a 120Hz refresh rate and a 5.8-inch full HD+ OLED outer display. The outer display is made with Corning Gorilla Glass Victus protection, while the inner display is coated with plastic. It is powered by the Tensor G2 SoC chipset and uses the Titan M2 security chip. Additionally, it runs on the latest Android 13 OS.
Camera
This foldable phone features a triple rear camera setup consisting of a 48-megapixel primary wide-angle camera with OIS, a 10.8-megapixel ultrawide camera, and a 10.8-megapixel dual PD telephoto lens. On the front, there is an 8 MP selfie camera on the cover display and another 8 MP front camera on the inside.
5G Support
The Pixel Fold is powered by a 4,821mAh battery that supports 30W charging. It supports 5G, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth, GPS, Google Cast, NFC, and a USB Type-C port. Additionally, it features sensors such as an accelerometer, barometer, gyro sensor, geomagnetic sensor, and light sensor.
Phone Storage
With a whopping 12 GB of RAM, this device has an internal storage capacity of up to 512 GB. With its impressive features, the Pixel Fold is expected to give tough competition to foldable phones like Samsung Galaxy Z Fold series, Oppo Find N2 Flip, and Huawei Mate X2.
What’s the Price?
The Pixel Fold 256GB storage variant starts at $1,799 (roughly Rs. 1,47,500), while the 512GB storage model is priced at $1,919 (roughly Rs. 1,57,300). However, the phone is currently unavailable in India and may be released soon.
Pixel Watch is Free
The Pixel Fold is available in Obsidian and Porcelain color options. The company is also offering a free Pixel Watch to customers who purchase the Pixel Fold. Pre-orders for the Google Pixel Fold have already begun in the US, but the foldable phone is only available in select markets for now.
