Indian cricket’s one of the great’s Sourav Ganguly aka Dada was born on July 8, 1972 in Kolkata. After an impressive 1990-91season Dada was roped for the national team. He made his ODI debut against the mighty west indies on 11 january 1992 but he failed to make his mark as he was dismissed for 3 runs. Unimpressed with his performance he lost his spot in the national squad. However, Dada was called back to the national squad after his breathtaking performances in the 1993-1994, 1994-1995, 1995-1996 Ranji Seasons.
Sourav Ganguly took over the duties of national team skipper when it was embroiled in a match-fixing controversy. With his mastermind tactics and skills, Sourav Ganguly gave some golden days to Indian cricket. Under his tenure the Indian team not only flourished in the home soil but also made some strong statements in the foriegn pitches.

India defeated England at Lords in 2002 in a decisive ODI and clinched the series. Pumped up with joy, Sourav Ganguly took off his shirt and celebrated at the Lord’s dressing room. This Iconic celebration still gives chills to Indian cricket fans.
