Directed by Gyanasagar and starring Sudheer Babu, the latest film ‘Harom Hara‘ is an action thriller. Malavika Sharma features opposite Sudheer Babu, and Sunil plays a pivotal role. Released to audiences on June 14, the film garnered positive feedback in theaters but failed to achieve significant commercial success, earning only moderate box office returns. Recently, it was released on OTT platforms and is now trending nationally at the number one spot.
Trending at the Top
‘Harom Hara’ has recently streamed on three OTT platforms: ETV Win, Aha, and Amazon Prime Video. It is gaining special popularity on these platforms, achieving impressive viewership. Amazon announced that ‘Harom Hara’ had reached the top position nationally and released a special poster in celebration. The film has outperformed several Bollywood films to secure this top spot.
The Reasons for Its Popularity!
In ‘Harom Hara,’ Sudheer Babu appears as Subrahmanyam, delivering one of the top mass roles of his career. His character receives significant elevations in the second half, reminiscent of films like ‘Pushpa’ and ‘KGF.’ Transforming into a mini gangster in Kuppan and manufacturing guns using his mechanical skills, Subrahmanyam’s rise to power captivates the audience. The intense action sequence that opens the second half could be considered the best scene of Sudheer Babu’s career. The climax, where Sudheer Babu single-handedly takes on hundreds of rowdies with powerful weapons, is particularly thrilling. If some dragging scenes had been trimmed and the love track between the hero and heroine better developed, the film might have received even better reception in theaters. Overall, the film team is very pleased with its performance on OTT.
Director Deserves Praise!
Director Gyanasagar Dwaraka has skillfully navigated a routine story, managing to impress with his storytelling. He introduces the point he wants to convey directly, integrating stunning action sequences into the narrative. The first half primarily focuses on character introductions, leading up to a twist before the interval that pulls the audience into the main story. The story picks up pace from the second half, though it becomes somewhat predictable, which slightly detracts from its impact. Overall, for fans of action movies, ‘Harom Hara’ offers a substantial treat.
The Story
In the 1980s, in the border area of Kuppam which connects Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, and Karnataka, Thammireddy and his family, including his brother Basava and son Sharath Reddy, ruled the area harshly, creating chaos and injustice. Subrahmanyam (Sudheer Babu) arrives in this tough environment and starts working as a mechanical lab assistant at a local college. However, he quickly runs into trouble with Sharath Reddy, leading to his suspension. With financial pressures mounting, Subrahmanyam uses his mechanical skills to start making guns illegally. Although he initially conflicts with Sharath Reddy, they eventually join forces to continue the gun-making business. Eventually, Subrahmanyam challenges Thammireddy’s authority. What follows? How does Subrahmanyam impact the lives of the people in Kuppam? Why do the locals start to view him as a hero, almost like a god? How does he stand up to Thammireddy? These questions shape the story.
