Another new smartwatch from the Huawei brand has been released in the Indian market. Named the Huawei Watch D2, it was unveiled on Thursday. This can be considered an upgraded version of the previous Huawei Watch D. The latest wearable features a 1.82-inch AMOLED display and supports Bluetooth calling. This smartwatch also has an IP68 water and dust resistance rating. It includes more than 80 sports modes, BP monitoring, oxygen saturation (SpO2), ECG, and a body temperature sensor. The Huawei Watch D2 also supports Ambulatory Blood Pressure Monitoring (ABPM).
Specifications of Huawei Watch D2:
The Huawei smartwatch features a display with a resolution of 480×408 pixels, a maximum brightness of 1500 nits, and a pixel density of 347 ppi, along with an Always-On Display (AOD) mode. The 1.82-inch AMOLED display is a highlight of this wearable, which is constructed with aluminum alloy, giving the smartwatch a premium look. It conveniently includes a rotating digital crown for zoom and volume adjustments and supports ECG readings.
The Huawei Watch D2 is rated IP68, making it capable of handling sweaty workouts and rain. The smartwatch works with both iOS and Android platforms and supports Bluetooth calling. It features over 80 sports modes, providing a customizable experience for users.
Additionally, the Huawei Watch D2 comes with the Ambulatory Blood Pressure Monitoring (ABPM) feature, which monitors the wearer’s blood pressure throughout the day, calculating average statistics for daytime and nighttime, and analyzing blood pressure rhythms. According to Huawei, this data is useful for assessing risks related to hypertension and heart health. The wearable can also track oxygen saturation (SpO2) rates, heart rate, sleep, physical activities, body temperature, and stress with the help of sensors.
The Huawei Watch D2 includes Bluetooth 5.2, NFC, and various sensors like an IMU sensor, IR sensor, ECG sensor, barometric sensor, Hall sensor, pressure sensor, optical heart rate sensor, and a body temperature sensor. It supports wireless charging, and users can take screenshots by pressing the UP & DOWN buttons on the wearable.
Users who purchase the Huawei Watch D2 will receive a free three-month subscription to Huawei Health+. Under normal usage, the wearable offers a battery life of up to 6 days and up to one day with the ABPM feature active, as stated by Huawei. The dimensions of the watch are 48x38x13.3mm, and it weighs 40 grams, providing a handy feel when worn.
Price of Huawei Watch D2:
The Huawei Watch D2 is priced at EUR 399 (approximately INR 38,000). It is currently available for pre-order at selected retail stores only. There is a possibility it will be available on Amazon from September 27.
