JNTUH has made important announcements. The university has revealed that students can pursue two degree courses at once. It added that this new programme will come into effect from the next academic year.
The JNTU-Hyderabad took this decision during its joint Boards of Studies meetings recently conducted to revise the UG and PG syllabi. Thirteen boards of studies attended the meetings and revised the syllabi for 25 undergraduate and 41 postgraduate programmes in accordance with the AICTE model curriculum.
Earlier this year University Grants Commission had permitted the universities to offer dual-degree programmes simultaneously at undergraduate and postgraduate levels from this year. Following this proposal from University Grants Commission JNTUH decided to introduce the dual degree programme from the next academic year i.e., 2022-2023.
JNTUH decided to implement this program by offering a BBA course along with BTech as the dual degree programme. However, the university stated that BBA courses have to be pursued from online mode and BTech from offline mode.
“The university students will have an option to pursue dual-degree from the next academic year. Students will be able to study the BBA programme, which will be launched soon by the university or from any other university, in addition to the BTech. Currently, the university only offers the BBA curriculum as part of the dual-degree programme.” Dr. M Manzoor Hussain, registrar at JNTU-H
