Mahesh Babu’s “Pokiri” will be screened on almost 150-200 screens on his birthday (August 9)

Mahesh Babu will celebrate his 47th birthday on August 9th. This birthday will be a special one for the prince of Tollywood as his fans are arranging special screenings for his all-time blockbuster film ‘Pokiri’

This special announcement was made in the month of July. Mahesh Babu fans also arranged special screenings for “Okkadu” last month. The ‘Pokiri’ special screenings were overwhelmingly well received, not only by superstar fans but also by the general public. The Telugu states had only scheduled a few shows of this cult favourite, but due to high demand, the number of shows was increased to 150. This sets a record for any Indian movie’s re-release. In all domestic and international markets, the tickets were completely sold out in a matter of hours. The film will be screened in Ultra HD 4K remastered version.

This demonstrates the fan following of Mahesh Babu and ‘Pokiri’ movies among the Telugu-speaking audience. The Pokiri movie was released in 2016. This movie is one of the Tollywood classics that wreaked havoc across the country. Upon release, it became the all-time blockbuster in Telugu cinema. The movie was later remade in Tamil and Hindi.

On the work front, Superstar Mahesh Babu is currently preparing for his next project SSMB28, which will be directed by Trivikram. The film will go to the floor next month and the unit is looking to release this film in January 2023.
