Lavanya Tripathi stars in the lead role of the latest web series “Miss Perfect,” alongside “Life is Beautiful” fame and “Bigg Boss 4” winner Abhijeet, who plays her romantic interest. The series also features Abhigna, Harshavardhan, Jhansi, Mahesh Vitta, Sunaina among the main cast. Directed by “Sky Lab” fame Vishwak Khanderao, the series premiered on Disney+ Hotstar. But does it manage to impress OTT viewers? Let’s find out now.

    Plot

Lavanya Rao (Lavanya Tripathi) is a girl who could be the brand ambassador for cleanliness and hygiene due to her OCD. She always wants her surroundings to be clean. As part of a promotion, Lavanya moves to Hyderabad and rents a flat in the same apartment complex where Rohit (Abhijeet) lives. Jyothi (Abhigna), who cooks in their flats, ends up sending Lavanya to Rohit’s flat for some reason. Mistaking her for a maid sent by Jyothi, Rohit gets confused, leading to a series of events. Why does Lavanya keep visiting Rohit’s flat? Why does he develop a liking for her? Does he confess it to her or not? What happens in the end forms the crux of the story.

    Performances

Lavanya Tripathi delivers a splendid performance as Miss Perfect. She fits perfectly into the role of someone who can’t stand uncleanliness. Abhijeet, after a long hiatus, appears before the Telugu audience in a fresh look, captivating with his unique acting skills. The pairing of Abhijeet and Lavanya looks great on screen, with both actors justifying their roles well. Harshavardhan and Jhansi have limited roles. Mahesh Vitta and other actors performed well within the scope of their characters.

    Direction

The OCD storyline is not new to Telugu viewers, reminiscent of the film “Mahanubhavudu.” However, director Vishwak Khanderao’s take on a woman with OCD is interesting. He has designed Lavanya’s character well but failed to craft compelling scenes that match her character’s complexity. He also missed the mark in leveraging her OCD for comedic effect. The direction falters in narrative pacing, comedy, and building curiosity about what’s next, with emotional moments also failing to make an impact due to the writing failure.

    Technically Speaking

On the technical front, credit goes to music director Prashanth R. Vihari for not taking the series lightly and composing some good melody songs. The background score is also commendable. Cinematography and production design are satisfactory, with high production values evident throughout the series.
