Directed by Sukumar and starring Allu Arjun, ‘Pushpa 2‘ is generating massive expectations nationwide. Cinema lovers are eagerly awaiting its release, which is just nine days away, prompting the makers to ramp up promotions. A special event was held in Chennai on Sunday (November 24), where the ‘Kissik’ item song was also released. Bunny captivated the Tamil audience with his mesmerizing speech. However, it’s being claimed online that Bunny’s speech wasn’t original but a copy of a previous speech by ‘KGF’ hero Yash. Netizens are also accusing the movie team of directly copying the story and promotional material from ‘KGF 2‘. Let’s examine the details.
Speech.. Exactly the Same!
Yash, hero of ‘KGF: Chapter 1’, directed by Prashanth Neel, created a huge sensation at the box office in 2018. At a grand event in Hyderabad during the film’s promotions, Yash surprised everyone by speaking in Telugu. He said wherever we go, we should respect the local land, language, and culture. Interestingly, Bunny made similar comments at the Chennai event of ‘Pushpa 2’. Speaking in Tamil, Bunny said he respects the local soil wherever he stands. Whether in Dubai, Patna, or Kerala, he will speak Arabic, Hindi, or Malayalam. The audience applauded Bunny, but netizens are trolling him because his speech closely resembles Yash’s. They are mocking with laughing emojis asking if he copied even the speech from ‘KGF’ concept, posters, and elevations.
Is the Story Also Copied?
There has been ongoing speculation on social media that ‘Pushpa 2’ is an unofficial remake of ‘KGF 2’. Observations from the ‘Pushpa 2’ trailer suggest this could be evident, with some scenes reflecting ‘KGF 2’. In ‘KGF 2’, Rocky listens to his wife’s advice towards the end, and similarly, in ‘Pushpa 2’, Pushparaj mentions listening to Srivalli. ‘KGF 2’ ends with Rocky’s wife dying in an attack, and ‘Pushpa 2’ shows Bunny standing near a funeral pyre, rumored to be Srivalli’s. After his wife’s death, Rocky’s wrath is immense, and similarly, Pushpa Raj is hinted to unleash his fury in the climax. Moreover, while Rocky’s name was only known locally in ‘KGF: Chapter 1’, it became famous nationwide by ‘Part 2’. Similarly, Pushpa Raj’s fame goes international in the second part of ‘Pushpa’. Considering all these, netizens are debating that ‘Pushpa 2’ is essentially a copy of ‘KGF 2’. Clarity might emerge by December 5.
Posters Also Referenced ‘KGF 2’!
As part of the promotions, posters of ‘Pushpa 2’ have also closely resembled those of ‘KGF 2’. Just like the red-themed big announcement poster of ‘KGF 2’ released by the ‘KGF’ team previously, ‘Pushpa 2’ also released a similar poster. Additionally, just like the poster showing Yash with a gun over his shoulder from ‘KGF Chapter 1’, ‘Pushpa 2’ released a poster of Bunny walking with a gun over his shoulder. There are even posters showing Yash from the back for the ‘KGF 2’ release date and Bunny from the back with 75 days to go for ‘Pushpa 2’. Comments have noted that even the color theme of the photos is exactly the same, fueling accusations that much of Pushpa 2’s promotional material closely matches that of ‘KGF’ and ‘KGF 2’. Take a look at those posters.
The Same During ‘Pushpa’ Release Too!
When ‘Pushpa’ (Pushpa: Part 1) was released in 2021, it unexpectedly became a sensation, reaching blockbuster status at a national level despite initial expectations of being limited to Tollywood. However, at that time, there was significant promotion suggesting that ‘Pushpa’s story formula was similar to ‘KGF’. Netizens connected every scene, accusing that if ‘KGF’ had gold, ‘Pushpa’ featured red sandalwood. They noted that the narration led by Keshava’s voiceover was similar to ‘KGF’. Initially, the heroines in both films opposed the heroes, eventually falling in love and marrying them. Both heroes shared a poignant childhood connection with their mothers. The overall approach of an ordinary person becoming a leader who topples villain groups was also pointed out as similar. Despite story differences, the overall theme seemed to have been copied from ‘KGF’, leading to widespread allegations.
