‘Pushpa 2’ Release Date Moved Up & ‘Pushpa 3’ Confirmed

Icon Star Allu Arjun is well-known to be starring in ‘Pushpa 2,’ directed by Sukumar, amidst high expectations. With Rashmika Mandanna as the leading lady, the movie has garnered nation-wide anticipation following the pan-India success of its first installment. The makers have officially announced a December 6th release for the film. However, in a recent press meet, they revealed an earlier release date and confirmed that ‘Pushpa 3’ is definitely happening.

A Day Early

Fans of Allu Arjun and cinema enthusiasts eagerly awaiting ‘Pushpa 2,’ initially set for December 6, will be delighted to know it’s coming a day earlier. Producers Naveen Yerneni and Ravi Shankar Yalamanchili announced at today’s press meet that due to a long weekend in the US, ‘Pushpa 2’ will premiere there on Wednesday, December 4. Accordingly, it will release pan-India on December 5. The makers also released a special poster and video, stating that releasing ‘Pushpa 2’ a day early aligns well with their plans.

‘Pushpa 3’ Confirmed

There has been ongoing speculation about a third part following ‘Pushpa 2.’ Both hero Allu Arjun and director Sukumar have hinted at ‘Pushpa 3.’ During the latest press meet, producer Ravi Shankar officially confirmed ‘Pushpa 3,’ mentioning they have a solid lead that guarantees the third installment. This announcement has undoubtedly escalated the excitement among fans, though the producer did not comment on when ‘Pushpa 3’ would commence filming.

Jatara Episode Hype

The producers responded to the hype surrounding the Jatara episode in ‘Pushpa 2,’ stating that it took nearly 35 days to shoot, with extensive rehearsals. Both director Sukumar and Allu Arjun worked hard on this and every scene, ensuring the episode will meet the high expectations. Significant funds were allocated to this scene, promising to make it a highlight of the film.

Non-Theatrical Record

Producer Ravi Shankar reacted to rumors that ‘Pushpa 2’ pre-release business surpassed ₹1000 crores, including theatrical and non-theatrical revenues. He highlighted that the non-theatrical business alone achieved unprecedented figures. The shooting of ‘Pushpa 2’s’ item song will start from November 4, with only that song remaining in the final stages of filming. Details about who will perform in the song will be disclosed in a couple of days.

₹1000 Crores Business!

Trade circles have announced that ‘Pushpa 2’ has already made a huge pre-release business milestone, grossing ₹1065 crores. Theatrical rights alone were sold for ₹640 crores. Breakdowns include ₹220 crores from Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, ₹200 crores from North India, ₹50 crores from Tamil Nadu, ₹30 crores from Karnataka, ₹20 crores from Kerala, and ₹120 crores overseas. Additionally, digital rights were acquired by Netflix for ₹275 crores, with music rights at ₹65 crores and satellite rights at ₹85 crores, totaling over ₹1000 crores in pre-release business.
