Rajamouli’s protege Ashwin Gangaraju to direct ‘1770’

In celebration of India’s glorious 75th Independence Day, the motion poster of ‘1770’, a much-loved magnum opus based on the Bengali novel ‘Anandamath’ by Bankimchandra Chatterjee was unveiled today. 

The film is directed by Ashwin Gangaraju, who had previously assisted Rajamouli on both ‘Eega’ and ‘Baahubali’. Vijayendra Prasad is penning the screenplay. The period action drama will be released simultaneously in six languages ​​namely Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam and Bengali.

1770′ will be produced under the banner ‘SS1’ Entertainment and PK Entertainment. More details about this project are expected to be released soon.
