Highlights of ‘Vettaiyan’!
Director TJ Gnanavel, known for his thought-provoking film ‘Jai Bhim,’ has attempted to deliver a meaningful message with ‘Vettaiyan’ as well. The film includes mass moments and heroism elevations that audiences crave, along with commercial elements that greatly enhance the story. The director has made a strong attempt to expose how the mafia misuses the education system. Rajinikanth’s introduction and his steps to dismantle the marijuana mafia kick off the movie on a high note, moving into the core story following a rape case involving Sharanya. Scenes between Amitabh Bachchan and Rajinikanth are particularly captivating, enhancing the film’s intrigue. Rajinikanth’s dialogues, along with the performances of star cast members like Fahadh Faasil and Rana Daggubati, have been well-utilized by the director. The climax is also satisfying. Anirudh Ravichander’s music takes the film to the next level.
The Plot
Police Officer Adiyan (Rajinikanth) works as the Superintendent of Police in Kanyakumari. He gains a reputation in the department as an encounter specialist. Based on a complaint from school teacher Sharanya (Dushara Vijayan), he encounters an individual running a marijuana mafia. Sharanya is then transferred to Chennai where she unexpectedly becomes a victim of a brutal attack. Teacher associations and the public massively protested, leading to the case being assigned to Adiyan. Within 48 hours, Adiyan captures a suspect named Guna and conducts an encounter, claiming he is the culprit. A judicial inquiry committee led by Judge Satyadev (Amitabh Bachchan) is formed to review the case. What did Satyadev’s committee conclude? What caused Sharanya’s death? What is the education mafia behind her death? The roles of Patrick (Fahadh Faasil), Nataraj (Rana Daggubati), ACP Roopa Kiran (Ritika Singh), and Hanu Reddy (Sampath Raj) in this case are pivotal.
