‘Thandel’ is Naga Chaitanya’s 23rd film, with music by Devi Sri Prasad. In this film, Chaitanya plays a fisherman. The story revolves around a group of fishermen from Srikakulam who go to Veeraval in Gujarat for fishing and get caught by the Pakistani Coast Guard. The film explores the events that unfold thereafter. In Gujarati, ‘Thandel’ means a boat operator, a term commonly used by people in the villages along the Gujarat-Pakistan border, as revealed by director Chandu Mondeti in an interview.
