Tata Company cars have a good reputation in India. From Tata Motors, electric cars in the segment like Tiago, Tigor, and Nexon are already in the market. Battery Power
While the motor power of Mahindra XUV 400 is 148 bhp and 310 Nm, Tata Punch EV offers a performance of 80 bhp and 114 Nm. Mahindra’s EV car comes with a battery capacity of 39.4 kWh and a motor power of 100 kW, offering a maximum power of 147.51bhp. On the other hand, Tata Punch comes into the market with advanced battery capacities of 25 kWh and 35 kWh.
Mileage
A 35 kWh battery-powered Tata Punch EV can travel up to 421 km on a full charge. In contrast, the Mahindra XUV 400 can only travel 415.5 km on a single charge. In terms of mileage, Tata Punch EV seems to have a slight edge.
Seating
Tata Punch EV comes with a five-door launch, providing seating arrangements for five people. Similarly, the Mahindra XUV 400 also has five doors and seating for five. Mahindra offers 368 liters of boot space, while Tata Punch EV comes with 366 liters of storage space in the trunk.
Charging Time
Tata representatives say that the Tata Punch EV can be fully charged in 9.4 hours using a 3.3kW AC wall box charger. With a 7.2kW AC charger, the car can be charged in just 5 hours. They also mentioned that it takes only 56 minutes to charge from 10-80% using a 50kW DC fast charger. The Mahindra XUV 400 car takes 6 hours and 30 minutes for a full charge.
Car Interior
The Tata Punch (Tata Punch EV Review) EV is equipped with a 10.25-inch instrumentation screen and infotainment display. The Mahindra XUV 400 also features a similar type of instrumentation screen. While the Mahindra car has a manual air conditioner, Tata Punch comes with an automatic climate control system. Both cars are equipped with heater facilities.
Powerful Tires
Both cars come with steel rims. The Mahindra XUV 400 car has 205 / 65R16 front tires, while Tata Punch EV is equipped with 185 / 70 R15 front tires. At the rear, these cars have 205 / 65 R16 and 185 / 70 R15 tires, respectively. Mahindra XUV 400 tire size is 16 inches, whereas Tata Punch EV has 15-inch wheels. Mahindra’s car comes with halogen headlights, while Tata Punch offers the latest LED projectors.
Airbags
Both Mahindra XUV 400 and Tata Punch EV come with airbags. The Mahindra XUV 400 is equipped with two airbags (driver and front passenger), whereas the Tata Punch car has six airbags, offering additional safety.
Price
The price of Mahindra XUV 400 EV ranges from Rs.15.49 – 19.39 lakhs depending on the variant. Similarly, the price of Tata Punch EV is also model-dependent and ranges between Rs.10.99-15.49 lakhs.
