In a recent interview with a YouTube channel, Dev Mohan answered various questions.

Q: How did you get the offer for Shakuntalam?

Dev: Producer Neelima saw my first film ‘Sufiyum Sujatayum. She liked my acting and felt that I would be suitable for the role of Dushyant in Shakuntalam. She approached me, and at first, I thought it was a prank. But after Neelima talked to director Gunasekhar, I realized it was genuine. I hope that by doing this, I can further hone my acting skills.

Q: Are you familiar with the Telugu film industry and Gunasekhar?

Dev: Yes, I have some knowledge of the Telugu film industry. Allu Arjun’s movies are very famous in our region (Kerala). I have watched films like Arya and Happy. Recently, I saw Vakeel Saab and Veera Simha Reddy. I have also watched Gunasekhar’s Okkadu and Rudhramadevi. He is a great director.

Question: What training did you undertake for Shakuntalam?

Dev: For this movie, I learned horse riding. I practiced horse riding for two hours daily. Initially, it was quite challenging, with pain in my arms and back. Gradually, I began to enjoy it and connected well with the horse during training.

Question: What precautions did you take for delivering dialogues in Telugu?

Dev: The director would send me the dialogues in voice notes. I would listen to them and write them down in Malayalam. The day before the shoot, I would practice the dialogues with the director. If there were any mistakes, I would correct them and deliver the dialogue during the shoot.
