Nevertheless, his newly announced projects are sparking considerable excitement about his upcoming roles. Vijay recently revealed his involvement in a period movie and confirmed his role as a police officer in a forthcoming film directed by Gowtam Tinnanuri. The latest buzz in Tollywood is that Rowdy boy is gearing up for a new project with renowned director Sukumar.

Producer Kedar Selagamsetty’s remarks about Vijay Deverakonda teaming up with director Sukumar have stirred significant interest. Kedar, who produced ‘Gun Gun Ganesha’ featuring Vijay’s brother Anand Deverakonda, made the announcement at the trailer launch event for this movie. He confirmed that a project bringing together Vijay Deverakonda and Sukumar is definitely in the works, sparking excitement and anticipation among Vijay’s fans.

Announcement Made Previously

A few years back, there was an announcement regarding a film collaboration between Vijay Deverakonda and director Sukumar, set to be produced by Falcon Creations under the stewardship of Kedar Selagamsetty. Unfortunately, the project did not materialize due to unforeseen circumstances. Sukumar, who initially planned to make an official announcement after completing ‘Pushpa 2’, instead announced a new project with Ram Charan, leading to speculation that the Vijay project might be shelved. However, recent updates from the producer have reignited interest in the Vijay-Sukumar film.

Not Until 2026!

Director Sukumar is presently immersed in the production of ‘Pushpa 2‘, which is advancing quickly towards its release date of August 15. Following this, he is set to start a new film with Ram Charan. According to producer Kedar Selagamsetty, Sukumar will only begin his project with Vijay Deverakonda after completing the movie with Charan. Given this schedule, the Vijay-Sukumar film is unlikely to commence before 2026 at the earliest. Furthermore, with the recent announcement of ‘Pushpa 3’ by Bunny, the timeline for Vijay’s film starting remains uncertain.

Vijay’s Future Projects

After ‘Family Star‘, Vijay Deverakonda is gearing up for a new collaboration with ‘Jersey’ director Gowtam Tinnanuri on a Pan-India level spy action thriller. In addition to this movie, Vijay has committed to two more projects. He is planning a period film with ‘Taxiwala’ fame director Rahul Sankrityan. The recently released poster for this movie has captured widespread attention. Vijay is also poised to work on an action drama with producer Dil Raju and director Ravi Kiran Kola. Following these films, there may be an opportunity for the Vijay-Sukumar project to begin.
