  • Vijayendra Prasad takes a dig at Tollywood filmmakers at “Kartikeya 2” pre-release event

Nikhil Siddhartha and Chandu Mondeti’s film “Kartikeya 2” will open in theaters on Saturday. The film is the follow-up to the 2014 film ‘Kartikeya.’ Anupama Parameswaran is playing the female lead in this film. A star-studded pre-release event was organised yesterday in Hyderabad.

The renowned director-writer from Tollywood, Vijayendra Prasad, made some shocking remarks at the pre-release ceremony. “I feel uncomfortable attending these kinds of gatherings because I can sense the verdict of the film on the faces of the makers,” Vijayendra Prasad admitted. Since we all want everyone to succeed, we are typically compelled to speak favourably of movies at their pre-release and promotional events, even though we know they won’t perform well. But “Kartikeya-2” is not in that category, and I sincerely believe that it will succeed at the box office in both Telugu and Hindi. It will carry on the success of South films.

Vijayendra Prasad’s surprising remarks sparked heated discussions throughout social media. Adivi Shesh, Sidhu Jonnalagadda, director Singeetham Srinivas Rao, and Telangana Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav were guests at the “Kartikeya 2” pre-release event.

What do you think about Vijayendra Prasad’s comments?
