Xiaomi is set to release its first clamshell foldable smartphone, the Xiaomi Mix Flip, in the global market soon. This was announced by Xiaomi’s founder and CEO, Lei Jun. The phone was already released in China in July, alongside the Xiaomi Mix Fold 4, and is expected to enter the Indian market in the coming days. Let’s take a look at the features of this phone.
Xiaomi Mix Flip Specifications
The Xiaomi Mix Flip features a compact 4.01-inch display and is powered by the advanced Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset. It also supports 67W fast wired charging and comes with a 4780mAh battery, ensuring efficient performance.
The Xiaomi Mix Flip has the potential to compete with Samsung and Motorola’s flip phones. It is slated for a global release in September, as announced by Lei Jun on his X account. However, the exact release date has not been disclosed yet. Details are expected to be revealed during the Xiaomi 14T series launch event.
Globally, the Xiaomi Mix Flip will compete with devices like the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 6 and Motorola Razr 50 Ultra. Its price in Europe is estimated to be around BGN 2600 (approximately ₹1,20,800).
In China, the price for the Xiaomi Mix Flip with 12GB RAM + 256GB storage is CNY 5999 (approximately ₹69,000). The 12GB RAM + 512GB storage variant is priced at CNY 6499 (approximately ₹74,800), and the 16GB RAM + 1TB storage variant costs CNY 7299 (approximately ₹84,000).
This phone will come with Xiaomi’s HyperOS, based on Android 14. It features a 6.86-inch 1.5K AMOLED internal display with a 120Hz refresh rate. The cover display is a 4.01-inch 1.5K AMOLED panel, with a resolution of 1392 x 1280 pixels.
It supports up to 16GB LPPDDR5X RAM and up to 1TB UFS 4.0 storage. Running on the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, the phone includes a Leica-based dual rear camera system, with a 50-megapixel primary sensor and a 50-megapixel OmniVision OV60A40 sensor. For selfies, it features a 32-megapixel OV32B sensor.
The phone supports 67W fast charging and provides a long battery life with its 4780mAh battery.
