In Tollywood, dozens of films are released every year. While some fail at the box office, others create a revenue tsunami. Although annual top-grossing films are well-documented, many might not know which film topped each month. Here, Yousay presents this special report, revealing which films led the box office collections month by month from January to December.

January
This year, for Sankranti, the film ‘Hanu Man‘ grossed Rs. 350 crores, making it the top-grossing Telugu film of January. Directed by Prasanth Varma, the film stars young actor Teja Sajja.
February
In February, ‘Bheemla Nayak‘ topped the collections among the releases, grossing Rs. 193 crores in 2022. Directed by Sagar K. Chandra, the film starred Pawan Kalyan, Rana, Nithya Menon, and Samyuktha Menon.
March
Directed by the cinematic giant Rajamouli, ‘RRR‘ dominated March, collecting Rs. 1300 crores at the box office in 2022. The film featured Ram Charan and Jr. NTR as lead.
April
Released in April 2017, ‘Baahubali 2‘ amassed a staggering Rs. 1810 crores, unequivocally placing it at the top in April. It stands as the second highest-grossing Indian film in terms of collections, featuring Prabhas, Rana, Anushka, Sathyaraj, and Ramya Krishnan.
May
Mahesh Babu’s ‘Sarkaru Vaari Paata,’ directed by Parasuram and released in 2022, grossed over Rs. 180 crores, securing the top spot in May. Keerthy Suresh starred as the heroine.
June
June saw the release of ‘Kalki 2898 AD,’ which grossed over Rs. 1200 crores, soaring to great heights that month. The film starred Prabhas with Kamal Haasan, Amitabh Bachchan, Deepika Padukone, and Disha Patani playing key roles.
July
‘Baahubali,’ directed by Rajamouli and starring Prabhas, was the top grosser of July 2015, collecting Rs. 650 crores. This film marked Rajamouli’s talent reaching a pan-India audience.
August
‘Saaho,’ directed by Sujeeth and starring Prabhas, topped August 2019 by grossing Rs. 445 crores. Bollywood actress Shraddha Kapoor played the female lead.
September
Last September’s release, ‘Devara: Part 1,’ topped that month’s collections by garnering Rs. 341 crores. It starred Tarak and Janhvi Kapoor, with Saif Ali Khan in a villainous role, directed by Koratala Siva.
October
‘Megastar Chiranjeevi‘s ‘Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy,’ released in October 2019, led the box office with Rs. 240.60 crores, directed by Surender Reddy.
November
Samantha, one of Tollywood’s leading actresses, topped November 2022 with ‘Yashoda,’ which released that month and collected Rs. 33 crores. The film was directed by the duo Hari Shankar and Harish Narayan.
December
Last December’s ‘Salaar‘ clinched the top spot by amassing Rs. 700 crores, directed by Prashanth Neel. Malayalam actor Prithviraj Sukumaran played a key role, and Shruti Haasan was the heroine. A sequel to this movie is also in the works.
