The renowned mobile company Samsung has launched its brand-new mobile in India today. The new smartphone, named Samsung Galaxy F15, has been introduced as a rebranded version of the ‘Galaxy A15 5G’ brought last December. Meanwhile, the prominent tech company Nokia has also introduced a new phone named ‘Nokia G42 5G’ into the market. Both being mid-range mobiles and belonging to well-known companies, they have caught the attention of tech enthusiasts. Let’s look at the features of these two phones and see which one is the better buy.
Mobile Screen
The Samsung Galaxy F15 5G mobile comes with a 6.5-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED screen. It features a 1,080×2,340 pixels quality, a 90Hz refresh rate, an octa-core MediaTek Dimensity 6100+ chipset, and is based on the Android 14 One UI 5 OS. On the other hand, the Nokia G42 5G mobile sports a 6.56-inch HD+ LCD screen, a 90Hz refresh rate, 560 nits peak brightness, an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 480+ chipset, and comes with the Android 13 operating system.
Storage & RAM
The Galaxy F15 5G mobile is launched in two variants by the company: 4GB RAM + 128GB and 6GB RAM + 128GB. The company has provided the option to expand the storage further via a microSD card. Compared to Samsung, Nokia offers a bit more updated options in terms of RAM and storage. The Nokia G42 5G is available in 6GB + 128GB and 8GB + 256GB options, making it a suitable choice for those requiring higher RAM and storage capacity.
Camera Quality
The Samsung Galaxy F15 5G mobile features a triple rear camera setup with a 50 MP primary camera + 5MP secondary sensor + 2MP shooter. It also has a 13MP selfie camera. The Nokia G42 5G, however, comes with only two cameras on the back: a 50 MP primary camera + 2MP sensor along with an LED flashlight. An 8MP front camera is also fixed. In terms of camera quality, Samsung appears to be a slightly better option.
Battery
The Samsung Galaxy F15 5G mobile steps into India with a massive 6,000mAh battery, promising up to two days of uninterrupted battery life on a single charge. The company claims it offers up to 25 hours of video playback on a single charge. Nokia, however, provides a 5,000mAh battery with 20W fast charging support. For those prioritizing better battery life, Samsung seems more appealing than Nokia.
Connectivity Features
The Galaxy F15 5G phone includes connectivity features like Wi-Fi 802.11a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 5.3, GPS, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and a USB Type-C port. It also comes with sensors like an accelerometer, gyro, sensor, geomagnetic sensor, and a fingerprint sensor. The Nokia G42 5G also offers Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth 5.1, USB Type-C features, and a side-mounted fingerprint sensor. In terms of connectivity, sensors, and security features, both phones are on par.

The starting variant of the Galaxy F15 5G (4GB RAM + 128GB) is priced by the company at ₹12,999, and the 6GB RAM + 128GB model can be acquired for ₹14,499. The latest variant, 8GB + 256GB, is announced at ₹16,999 and will be available on Amazon and the HMD website starting March 8.
Which One to Buy?
Comparing the Samsung Galaxy F15 and Nokia G42 5G mobiles, both offer similar features. However, Samsung’s mobile seems a bit better in terms of camera, battery, and operating system. For those who prioritize RAM & storage, Nokia leads. Budget-wise, Nokia is more affordable at under ₹10,000. Those desiring advanced features can opt for Samsung, while those with budget constraints can confidently choose Nokia.
