  • Captain Cool, Mahendra Singh Dhoni Turns 41

    As cricket fans, we can’t even imagine Indian cricket without the magical three words, i.e, M.S.D, aka Mahendra Singh Dhoni. The coolest captain, a lethal hitter, a breathtaking wicket keeper, and a history-maker of Indian cricket, M.S. Dhoni.

    Dhoni was born in a remote hamlet of Jharkhand state on this day(July 7)  in 1981. On December 23, 2004, Dhoni made his ODI debut following a standout first-class career. One year later, on December 2, 2005, he made his test debut. Dhoni’s thrilling batting and wicket-keeping exploits solidified his spot in the national squad, and in September 2007 he was named the team’s captain.

    Dhoni never looked back after taking leadership of the Indian cricket squad. His success soared, and everything he touched became gold. He guided India to three ICC victories, including

    ICC T20 World Cup (2007)

    ICC World Cup (2011)

    ICC Champions Trophy (2013)

    Dhoni stepped down as the captain in January 2017 and, after three years, he announced his retirement from international cricket on August 15, 2020.

    Dhoni led his IPL team, Chennai Super Kings, to title glory four times (2010, 2011, 2018, and 2021). CSK ended up as the runners-up in the 2008, 2012, 2013, 2015, and 2019 IPL seasons.

    Captain Cool is an inspiration to millions of cricketers and cricket fans all around the world. He’s one of the highly respected citizens in India. The Indian government presented him with the Padma Bushan, Padma Shri, and Khel Ratna honors in appreciation of his achievements.
