    Director: A. Harsha

Production Company: Sri Sathya Sai Arts

    Producer: K.K. Radhamohan

The action entertainer ‘Bhimaa,’ featuring macho hero Gopichand, is directed by Kannada filmmaker A. Harsha under the banner of Sri Sathya Sai Arts by K.K. Radhamohan. Young heroines Priya Bhavani Shankar and Malavika Sharma co-starred in the movie. The teaser, trailer, and promotional posters have already heightened expectations for the film. Released globally on March 8, as a Maha Shivaratri special, does ‘Bhimaa’ bring relief to Gopichand, who has been seeking a hit for years? Did Gopichand impress in his police avatar?

    Plot

The story of ‘Bhimaa’ revolves around the Parashurama Kshetra temple, situated in the vicinity of Bangalore and Badami, where unexpected incidents occur. How does the police officer Bhimaa (Gopichand) solve them? What is his connection to parashurama Kshetra? How are the roles of heroines Priya Bhavani Shankar and Malavika Sharma integrated into the story? How does the love track between Priya Bhavani and Gopichand begin?

    Performance

In this out-and-out action movie ‘Bhimaa,’ Gopichand delivers a stellar performance. As a police officer, his dialogue delivery, attitude, and body language are commendable. It seems like Gopichand has finally received a role that suits his persona after a long time. He appears in dual roles, mesmerizing the audience with variations fitting the character. The heroines Priya Bhavani Shankar and Malavika Sharma have significant roles, with Priya Bhavani’s chemistry with Gopichand being particularly captivating on screen. Naresh, Vennela Kishore, and Chammak Chandra bring laughter, while Nassar, Mukesh Tiwari, and Rohini, among others, deliver commendable performances within their roles.

    Direction

Director A. Harsha, who is also a choreographer, has provided a fresh presentation of Gopichand in ‘Bhimaa.’ Having delivered numerous hit films in Kannada, Harsha successfully showcases Gopichand in a different light. The story woven around Parashurama Kshetra feels novel. Harsha has brought out Gopichand’s acting prowess in a dual role, one of which is a surprise element. He has excellently crafted each action sequence to be impactful. The special effects department also contributed well to the film’s success, with the interval bang and climax adding great value. However, the second half feels somewhat routine, with certain scenes lacking logical coherence.

    Technically

On the technical front, Ravi Basrur’s music is a highlight, especially his background score, which elevates the action sequences. Swamy J. Gowda’s cinematography is praiseworthy. The editing could have been tighter to enhance the pacing. The production values are high, showing no compromise on the budget.

    Positive Points:

    – Gopichand’s performance

    – Action sequences

    – Background music

    Negative Points:

    – Dragged scenes

    – Editing
