  • Is Nikhil Siddartha’s “Karthikeya-2” a victim of movie theater monopoly in Telugu cinema Industry? Why is it constantly being delayed?

The movie “Karthikeya-2” starring Nikhil Siddartha and Anupama Parameshwarn has yet another fresh release date. This movie has been battling for the past two to three months to get a stable release date.

“Karthikeya-2” should have been released earlier this year, however the producers have declared that their movie will be released on July 22 due to some post-production and Hindi dubbing work. Nikhil and his team were forced to turn to Push Karthikeya to locate a new date after Tollywood’s top producer “Thank You” was switched to July 22. The creators of “Karthikeya-2” attempted to release their movie on July 28 but were unsuccessful since Ravi Teja’s Rama Rao on Duty was released on that day. Both “Bimbisara” and “Sita Ramam” are releasing on August 5, Nikhil and his producers enquired about the date but were denied.

Finally “Karthikeya-2” team have chosen to fight against Nithiin’s “Macherla Niyojakavargam” on August 12 after overcoming all challenges. On this date, the film crew began a promotional tour. However, Young Hero and his crew are once again forced to postpone their movie by a day as a result of pressure from some undisclosed insiders in the business. The “Karthikeya-2” team has announced that their movie will premiere on August 13.

Actor Nikhil said, “Postponement of films to avoid the conflict is for a worthy reason but why should only my film be postponed every time? Why not other movies? ” when discussing his battle to have their movie released.  The actor previously asserted that some influential people in the industry are purposefully targeting our picture and trying to get it delayed.

The battle over “Karthikeya-2’s” release is a blatant example of Telugu cinema’s nepotistic politics and theater monopoly. Small films struggle to get theaters because the majority of theaters in AP and TG are controlled by powerful individuals. It breaks our hearts to see how challenging it is for our young actors and indie movies to find a release date. We hope “Karthikeya-2’s” box office triumph teaches a lesson to the industry.

“Kartikeya 2” starrs Nikhil Siddhartha, Anupama Parameswaran, and Vennela Kishore in the lead roles. It is directed by Chandoo Mondeti and bankrolled by Abhishek Agarwal Arts. Aditya Menon, Anupam Kher, Harsha Chemudu and Srinivasa Reddy are playing the key roles in this film. “Karthikeya-2” will hit the screens on August 13.
