“Kantara,” a movie starring Kannada actor Rishab Shetty, is wrecking havoc at the Tollywood box office. The people gave the official Telugu dub of this movie overwhelmingly good reviews when it debuted in theaters on October 15.
The Telugu version of “Kantara” garnered a whopping Rs. 4 crore on its first day, well beyond all predictions. On day two, the movie added another 6 crore in gross receipts. A surprising achievement for the performer and his crew, who had no prior name recognition among the Telugu public, “Kantara” has made 10 crore in revenue in Telugu states in just two days.
“Kantara” has easily reached its break-even point, which is estimated to be worth 2 crore. ‘Geetha Arts’ released this flick in Telugu.
Ironically, “Kantara” has turned into a nightmare for Chiranjeevi’s “Godfather,” which was ignored this weekend by the crowd owing to the buzz around “Kantara.” In spite of having a large number of theaters and favourable reviews, “Godfather” did not improve that much in the second week.
