Actor Nikhil Siddharth, who is ecstatic with the success of his recently released movie “Karthikeya 2,” thinks that there will be more installments of the Karthikeya franchise.
In an interview with TOI, in response to a query about whether the series will have a third installment, Nikhil stated:
“Yes, especially with a character like Dr. Karthik who is determined to solve intriguing riddles and embark on fascinating adventures. We shall return for several more thrilling installments of Karthikeya because there are still a number of untold tales concerning our cultural history.”
The actor, who has been blown away by the wonderful reaction the movie has elicited, acknowledges that even they did not anticipate such a resounding response.
Nikhil said: “Our entire team was astonished by this response. It was amazing how shows were spread out around the nation and theaters were crowded with people. We owe a huge debt of gratitude to everyone who watched our movie and showed support.”
“It began with a meager 40 screens in the Hindi belt and has grown to an amazing 1,000 locations with approximately 3,000 shows. This Krishna Janmashtami weekend, a huge number of people are anticipated to watch it.” he added.
“Karthikeya 2” emerged as a blockbuster in Hindi and Telugu languages. The film grossed 60 crores in just one week. Hindi belt has contributed to 10 crore gross, which is truly remarkable for young actor Nikhil.
Karthikeya-2 is the follow up to 2014’s ‘Karthikeya’. The film stars Nikhil Siddharth and Anupama Parameshwaran in the lead roles. It is helmed by Chandoo Mondeti and produced by Abhishek Agarwal Arts and People Media Factory. Kaala Bhairava composed the music. The cinematography and editing were done by Karthik Ghattamaneni.
