The second day saw a severe decline in collections for Vijay Deverakonda’s “Liger Telugu Movie” with a dip of more than 80% from the first. But in Hindi, on opening day which is Friday, the movie got some respectable numbers.
The Telugu version of “Liger” was released on Thursday, while the Hindi version was released on Friday. Despite unfavourable reviews from both the public and critics, the movie had a successful opening weekend at the box office in the Hindi-speaking region. Vijay Deverakonda’s Hindi debut has earned around 4.7 crores at the box office, with an additional Rs. 1.30 crore from paid previews on Thursday. With these figures, Liger’s opening day, which includes paid previews, comes in at around Rs. 5.50 crores, which are respectable numbers for a movie with a debut actor.
Talking of opening, Liger has opened better than Allu Arjun’s Pushpa: The Rise in the Hindi belt around 1 crore more than the Allu Arjun film, indicating that there was interest in Vijay Deverakonda among the audience.
In the Telugu version, “Liger” had a disastrous second day. The movie’s second day box office took an 80% dip and brought in about 1.54 crore. The movie brought in a respectable 9.5cr on opening day. The unfavourable reviews undoubtedly had an impact.
