Tollywood’s leading actor, Nandamuri Balakrishna, has completed 50 years in the film industry. In this context, the grand NBK 50 Years Celebrations event was held on Sunday (September 1). Film and political dignitaries attended the event to reminisce about their connections with Balakrishna and his acting career. Megastar Chiranjeevi, who was the chief guest, made some intriguing comments at the event and offered a bumper offer to director Boyapati and other scriptwriters. This has now become a hot topic in Tollywood.
Green Light for a Multi-Starrer with Balayya
At Balakrishna’s golden jubilee celebrations, Megastar Chiranjeevi made some exciting comments. He expressed his pleasure in participating in Balayya’s 50-year celebration, emphasizing that it was not only a celebration for Balakrishna but for the entire Telugu film industry. He praised Balakrishna as a synonym for faction movies in the industry. Chiru mentioned that Balakrishna inspired him to make the movie ‘Indra’. He said if any director or writer comes up with a good story involving characters like Indrasena Reddy and Samarasimha Reddy, he would be ready to act. Promptly, Balakrishna also agreed by saying “double okay” when Chiru asked “Are you ready?” Specifically pointing to director Boyapati Srinu, Chiru challenged him to come up with a story, and also mentioned YVS Chowdary’s name in this context.
Why Boyapati?
Many directors attended Balakrishna’s golden jubilee event from the industry, but Chiru specifically mentioned Boyapati Srinu for a strong reason. Among current directors, Boyapati is known as a caretaker of action films and has directed blockbuster films with senior actor Balakrishna such as ‘Simha‘, ‘Legend‘, and ‘Akhanda‘. Chiru might believe that only Boyapati could do justice to such a massive multi-starrer, which is why he specifically called out “Oi Boyapati.. Challenge” suggesting that analysts believe Chiru anticipated Boyapati could handle this project. At the same time, senior director YVS Chowdary and other scriptwriters were also indirectly encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity.
YVS Chowdary Steps into the Arena?
It’s known that director and producer YVS Chowdary has come forward ready to write roles for Chiranjeevi and Balakrishna, taking inspiration from movies like ‘Indra’ and ‘Samarasimha Reddy’. YVS Chowdary, a die-hard fan of the Nandamuri family, has a strong connection with them and has directed films with Balakrishna and Harikrishna in the past. Though he had been away from the industry for some time, he has recently announced a new project. If he manages to convince Chiru and Balayya with his story, it could lead to a never-before-seen multi-starrer in Tollywood.
