  • Kantara dethrones KGF:Chapter-2 and emerges as the highest rated Indian film on IMDB.

    So far 2022 has been a dream run for Kannada cinema. KGF-2 has ignited the fire at the national and global box office, minting more than 1200 crores. The momentum has been followed by Rakshith Shetty’s Charlie 777 which made around 110 crore gross at the box office. Right now, “Kantara,” directed by Rishabh Shetty, is dominating the Indian box office. The film appears unstoppable as the reviews for the movie keep getting better every day. Despite its limited distribution, “Kantara” quickly became a national sensation due to good word of mouth. Hindi version of the movie were released today, the Telugu version is set to release tomorrow. Over 60 crores have been made by “Kantara” globally to date.

    Apart from box office success ‘Kanthara’ was also a critically acclaimed hit. The flick has dethroned KGF-2 and became the highest-rated film on IMDb surpassing. Kantara is currently holding a rating of 9.4 on IMDb, which is the highest for an Indian film. It is followed by KGF Chapter 2 (8.4) and SS Rajamouli’s RRR (8). 

    YouSay has given the four star rating for ‘Kantara’ calling it “The must watch theatrical experience.”

    The trade experts are predicting that ‘Kantara’ might touch the 100 crore benchmark in the coming days. Rishabh Shetty, who also starred as the movie’s star, directed it. Hombale Films, the KGF producers, are behind its production.
