    Celebrating International Women’s Day 2022, who were the most powerful Indian women in the year 2021?

    For working women, there are family obligations on one hand, and the chosen goal on the other. Many women in our society are fighting two battles at the same time: one to share love and affection, and the other to establish name and fame in their chosen profession.

     Let us remember the women who overcame adversity and social rejection to become powerful women in the year 2021 on International Women’s Day 2022.

    Mamata Banerjee

    Mamata Banerjee, West Bengal’s current Chief Minister, has been dubbed the “Bengal Tiger” or “street fighter.” After being born in 1955 into a simple lower middle-class family, she rose to the pinnacle of politics today. Mamata, who has been a political powerhouse in India since her days as a student, is known for her fighting prowess. She ran and won against Somnath Chatterjee, a well-known Leftist leader, in 1984. She founded the Trinamool Congress party in 1997. Against all odds, she easily defeated the BJP in the recent state elections. She is currently concentrating on national politics and moving forward with tenacity.

    Falguni Nayar

    Falguni, a banker by trade, began her Nykaa journey when she was 50 years old. Nykaa launched a cosmetics company in 2012 to capitalize on the growing interest in make-up products among Indian women. She founded the company in her fifties and has faced numerous financial and psychological obstacles, but she has not given up. Nykaa quickly ascended to the top of the Unicorn list, making Falguni one of the wealthiest women in the world in just nine years. Nykaa’s market value has surpassed Rs 1 lakh crore following its recent IPO.

    Mirabai Chanu

    Mirabai Chanu’s biography, in which she entered the ring at the Tokyo Olympics-2020 with no expectations and won a silver medal for India in the weightlifting category, is inspiring to many. She was a Manipur native who worked odd jobs. Despite poverty, economic hardship, and societal pressure, she did not give up on her goal.

    Shilpa Shetty

    Shilpa Shetty is a popular Bollywood actress as well as a successful television personality. When her husband Raj Kundra’s pornography case became public last year, her world came crashing down around her. She has to deal with a lot of trolls, criticism, and so on, and she has received no help from the film industry or her friends. She, on the other hand, remained strong and calm and avoided making any comments, gradually weathering the crisis.

    Maharashtra’s Priyanka Mohite has shown that women can succeed in any field. She became the first Indian woman to reach the summit of Annapurna (8091 m), one of the world’s highest mountains. Priyanka aspires to scale the highest peaks while excelling as a Bharatanatyam dancer. She is focusing on her career as well as her fitness by staying fit.
