With not much to cheer people up thanks to the seemingly unending Covid-19 waves, the one silver lining is the rise and rise of the Telugu movie craze on both sides of the Vindhyas. Funnily the unprecedented recent rise in popularity of the Telugu blockbusters across the length and breadth of the country can be attributed to what else-Pushpa the Rise!
As a matter of fact, the Minister of Information Bureau thought it fit to cash in on the popularity of Puhspa the Rise by tweeting a picture of Allu Arun from the movie donning a face mask in an effort to encourage people to mask up in public.
Another tweet by iMr Professor advises people –Don’t be a ‘Pushpa, be a Srivalli’ by wearing a mask like Srivalli in a still from the movie, unlike the rakish and mask-less Pushpa.
In the North people can’t get enough of Telugu films, albeit in their Hindi versions, and were rather disappointed when theatres were ordered temporarily shut on account of the Omicron wave, interrupting the golden run of Pushpa- the Rising. Now that the theatres have reopened, the collection seems to be posed to resume its march to the stratosphere, as this tweet by Mr. TutejaTalks Pushpa (Hindi) collections will start going up all over again since Delhi and Haryana theatres have reopened. Very good showcasing for the film here.
It is not surprising that members of the Bollywood fraternity can’t stop singing peans to the success of Pushpa the Rising as this tweet from popular Bollywood actor Anupam Kher testifies Watched Pushpa!! BLOCKBUSTER of a film in the real sense. Larger than life, high on adrenalin and full paisa vasool. And dear alluarjun you are a rockstar.
And here are a few more tweets that will surely tell Tollywood’s time in the sun has come- Covid or no Covid.
