The reality show Bigg Boss is back in the news. Telugu Yuvashakti President Kethireddy Jagadeeshwar Reddy filed a case against the show in 2019. According to Kethireddy, the reality show is guiding young people down the path of vulgarity. Mr. Reddy requested an urgent hearing on his petition after the issue had been on hold for several months. The court granted his request and held a hearing on this case on April 29, 2022. The case was heard by a A.P High Court panel comprised of Justice Ahsanuddin Amanullah and Justice T. Rajasekhara Rao. The jury made a few noteworthy observations that may drag the interest of the entertainment industry.
The petitioner’s viewpoints were determined to be fair by the court. “I’m curious as to why no one has reacted these days,” the jury added. Such programmes contribute to the community’s vulgarity. People believe that their children are safe and that they have never had any problems with such programmes. No one cares when you have a problem if you don’t care about other people’s difficulties.” According to the court, the next hearing in this case will take place today.
Despite Mr. Reddy’s appeal, Bigg Boss is one of the most popular television programmes in Telugu states. The show is about to enter its sixth season. Meanwhile, the producers of Bigg Boss launched Bigg Boss OTT, an OTT version of the show.
