After the progress of the ‘Digital India’, cash is barely carried by the Indian citizens. However, many people are being looted by the online fraudsters and hackers at the same time with the lack of knowledge. So, to avoid losing your money to online fraudsters, keep these 7 tips in mind and follow at times to come.
Look at websites closely
For online banking use websites that only precede with ‘https’. Check for spelling mistakes within the ‘url’ and beware of the imitation of the official page. There would definitely be a slight alteration which you need to find.
Never disclose password
Never disclose password to others. Do not make passwords that can be easily guessed by others and regularly change passwords to avoid hacking.
Link email and mobile number to account
Always link your personal and primary email to the bank account and enable the notifications from all sender emails of your bank. Also link mobile number to get alerts in case of an unusual or unauthorized login to your account so that you can react immediately.
Never store
Many of us make this mistake without knowing any of its ill-effects. Never store or keep important banking details, passwords, pins and other personal information in mobile, wallet and other physical forms that can easily be breached or accessed.
ATM Safety
While withdrawing the money, stand close to the machine and look at the positioning of the CCTV cameras. Do not let perpetrators have a peek at your pin number. In case of a stolen or a missed ATM card, immediately block the card and report it to your bank authorities and the Police.
No bank employee/agent calls you
This has become the common mode of operation for the fraudsters. Remember, no bank employee or agent will call you and ask confidential information and enquire on details you can’t share. Of course, no one can ask you such details at your bank, be it the employee of the bank’s branch.
